Fargo may be most recognized for the eponymous 1996 dark comedy. The town is the most populous in North Dakota and is a cultural center for southeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. The treatment center is less than three miles from beautiful Lindenwood Park on the Red River.
The First Step Recovery program offers walk in drug and alcohol assessments. Assessments are offered Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with no appointment necessary.
In addition to evaluations, the addiction treatment services include a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and a low intensity outpatient treatment program. In the PHP, clients receive 20 hours a week of treatment.
The IOP is nine hours per week, while the low intensity program is three to five hours per week. There’s also a relapse prevention group and a family program.
They offer a DUI seminar and substance use education once a month. The seminar is 16 hours, taught in two eight-hour days. Clients can get proof of completion for DOT or the courts after the class ends.
