About Spectrum Health Care
Spectrum Healthcare is a nonprofit addiction treatment healthcare provider that is part of the New Jersey Department of Health with a location in Jersey City, New Jersey. It specifically provides care to Hudson County residents with a range of outpatient programs designed to target opioid addiction, while also providing culturally competent care.
Additionally, this facility provides short-term detoxification programs to help people get sober and begin their recovery journey. If you need detox support, this will usually be a 30 day program and can include medication assisted treatment (MAT) to manage withdrawal symptoms and minimize the risk of relapse.
Intensive Outpatient Services
There are two core intensive outpatient programs (IOP) at Spectrum. There is a women’s specific group which is designed to incorporate not just addiction recovery, but also address gender-specific underlying issues that can sometimes contribute to substance abuse. This can include domestic violence, parenting, self esteem issues, and even other mental and physical health issues which can serve as triggers.
Meanwhile, there is a general IOP which provides counseling in both individual and group settings. This can include access to peer support groups like AA or NA. Additionally, those who need it will have access to dual diagnosis care to treat any underlying mental health issues, including access to medications if needed.
Aftercare and Supported Independence
Getting sober is a major achievement, but most people need support to maintain that milestone. Spectrum helps with this by providing access to community programs that can help people secure housing, develop life and job skills, and even obtain employment. People can also access transportation to continue attending sessions.
