Outpatient Treatment for Substance Use Disorder
Outpatient services are helpful for clients who have completed residential treatment and for clients who are mild to moderate substance users. Outpatient client services consist of blended group therapy, didactic group therapy, specialty groups, wellness groups and individual and family counseling.
Didactic group therapy uses a classroom style approach where a facilitator presents educational information about substance use and leads discussions about these topics. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) services are integrated with other services such as therapy and opiate specific education. The client will receive specialized support during medication administration.
Withdrawal management or detoxification is medically monitored because of the dangers of withdrawal symptoms. Clients needing acute detoxification care can be referred to a Sacred Heart location for 24/7 care by nurses and provisional laboratory support.
Clients can receive telehealth services using a secure application. Telehealth services include group therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, treatment planning and reviews, medication assisted treatment, primary care coordination and recovery support.
Special Treatment Option through Medicaid
SUD Health Home is available to clients with Medicaid coverage who have an opioid, alcohol or stimulant use disorder diagnosis. Several services are covered by Medicaid, including transitional care, health promotion, individual and family support and referral to other support services. Recovery support services focus on physical and emotional care such as transitioning to different levels of care, housing that supports recovery, engagement within the community, case management and peer support.
