About Community and Family Resources
Prelude Behavioral Services in Iowa City, Iowa, has gone through a name change to Community and Family Resources. They still provide addiction and substance abuse recovery. This includes intensive detoxification programs and outpatient alcohol, drug or gambling addiction treatment. They offer everything from detox and residential treatment to virtual treatment by video and phone.
All outpatient services are offered at their Iowa City location, but residential programs are on a different campus, in Fort Dodge. Referrals are made, and transportation or admission applications can be accessed through Iowa City and other outpatient locations.
Onsite Outpatient Services
If someone is ordered by the Department of Transportation to attend DUI school, they can attend 12-hour DUI education classes at this location. They also offer residential correctional facility OWI programming and jail-based treatment.
Also available are multiple outpatient programs for addiction recovery. Intensive and extended outpatient programs are offered along with continuing care programs to help individuals successfully navigate recovery from compulsive and addiction-fueled behaviors. Gender-specific programming is available at all levels of care.
There is medication assisted treatment for those who are struggling with opioid, tobacco or alcohol addiction. This program helps individuals cope with and manage the physical symptoms of withdrawal so they can focus on the emotional and behavioral components of their addiction and mental health symptoms.
There are intensive and extended outpatient programs for youth as well. These programs offer four to six hours of group programming each week, and the curriculum lasts for six to 12 weeks.
Mental Health Beyond Substance Abuse
Drug, alcohol and other addictions often begin as a way to self medicate or cope with trauma or other mental health concerns. Community and Family Resources uses evidence-based, trauma-informed treatments such as dialectical behavior therapy to support individuals with anger management and emotional regulation issues, post traumatic stress disorder, mood and personality disorders, and other mental health concerns.
Payment Options
They accept most private health insurance plans and Title-19 Iowa Medicaid. There are financial assistance programs available for those who do not have insurance coverage or are underinsured.
