About Harris House Traditional Housing Program
Harris House Transitional Housing is a program designed to help people find safe, substance free housing while in treatment or shortly after completing substance use disorder (SUD) care in St. Louis, Missouri. It is part of the larger Harris House network which provides addiction treatment. The Transitional Housing program is further segmented into two tracts depending on where you are in the recovery process.
Level 1 Program
The Level 1 Program is ideal if you’ve recently gotten sober, but want a supportive environment where you can prioritize your recovery without being surrounded by triggers that could cause a relapse. While the opportunity is open to anyone, priority is given to applicants who recently graduated from Harris House’s intensive inpatient program which helps you detox safely.
The Level 1 Program includes subsidized housing and healthy meals, as well as continued access to dual diagnosis care and individual and group counseling sessions. The goal is for you to have up to one year to fully build the skills you need to maintain sobriety when you get back to regular life. Other support you’ll receive can include family reunification, building parenting skills, and assistance with preparing for and securing a job.
Level 2 Program
The Level 2 Program builds on the tools you’re learning from but is intended for people who are capable of managing tasks more independently. While the housing is still subsidized, you’ll be responsible for preparing your own meals in the residential kitchen. Likewise, being gainfully employed is a prerequisite for this program, along with a monthly check in meeting with your counselor.
Harris House accepts a wide range of insurance plans offered in Missouri. However, you can speak with a patient care advocate for full plan coverage details and to inquire if financial aid or sliding fee scales are available.
