About Firstep Women’s Recovery Program
East of Kitchen Lake near southern Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, you’ll find the location of Firstep’s women’s recovery program. Firstep offers participants in their program a unique approach to drug and alcohol recovery.
They provide a home base that serves as a residential sober living facility and then connect residents to therapists and intensive outpatient (IOP) services based on their individual needs. What I like about their model is that there are no out-of-pocket costs when enrolling. Instead, the costs are subsidized by community partnerships and the balance can be paid afterward either through a contract with an existing employer or by the client once they get employment.
Holistic Live-In Healing
Firstep offers a wide array of services designed to help clients recover and build independence on a variety of fronts. Apart from connecting clients with outpatient services, Firstep also provides counseling and peer support inside the residential setting. They can also take clients through their 12 Step program and even provide parenting classes and support.
Educational & Vocational Training
Another great part of their program is that they give residents a considerably high amount of exposure to working environments, as well as offering the chance to get a GED or higher education. Giving people the chance to work keeps costs low and helps clients build bridges into the jobs or careers they’ll have after recovery.
