About Harmony House
The Harmony House in Cheyenne, Wyoming is a men's residential treatment center run by Volunteers of America Northern Rockies. A place where men dealing with substance abuse or mental health disorders can find some structure and a bit of support.
The facility guides patients through recovery, using different therapies and looking at the person as a whole, not just the addiction. Treatment plans are tailored from the get-go, and help clients get stable, build some resilience and lay the groundwork for a recovery that actually sticks.
Healing and Growth in the Heart of Wyoming
Here, the focus is on alcohol and drug addiction, but they also talk a lot about mental health support. Patients get connected with a licensed clinician who helps them figure out a treatment plan based on their history, what they've been through, and what they're hoping for.
Harmony House's core treatment is weekly one-on-one counseling sessions, group therapy and some specialized programs that dig into things like trauma, grief, parenting issues, and just general life skills.
They use therapies like CBT, Motivational Interviewing, the 12-Step thing, Seeking Safety, and ACT. Plus, they also help men find jobs and get back into the swing of things socially, which is very important for life after treatment.
Amenities and Aftercare
Leaving the structured environment of Harmony House doesn't mean the support ends. In fact, it's just the beginning of their ongoing care. Thoughtful discharge planning acts as the initial step, carefully mapping out the return to community life for each person.
Individuals can receive extra support in early sobriety and possibly transitional housing, which provides a safe and substance-free bridge back into the community. Alumni are encouraged to attend regular check-ins after discharge to keep the momentum going and address any hurdles they might encounter.
Harmony House also ensures access to resources and the strength found in peer support networks. With this continued guidance and networks in place, clients leave Harmony House equipped to take their recovery one strong step at a time.
