About ASAC Area Substance Abuse Council Main Campus
ASAC - Area Substance Abuse Council Main Campus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, provides treatment for substance abuse, gambling and other addictions, as well as dual diagnosis with other mental health concerns. They provide care for adolescents as young as 13 and continue care through adult programming after the age of 18.
All ASAC locations are nicotine or tobacco free. This includes smoking or vaping of any kind. Assistance will be given to those grappling with an addiction to smoking or vaping.
Youth Treatment Options
Their main youth day treatment option is the SETH program. SETH stands for Strength, Empowerment and Teen’s Health, and the program is designed to help youth between the ages of 13 and 18 take control of their lives and their health. There are intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization programs. Most outpatient youth programming happens between the hours of 1pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Residential Treatment Options
Women with children or who are expecting a child can find residential addiction treatment at the Heart of Iowa residential facility in Cedar Rapids. There are other residential programs in other locations that can be accessed through assessments and referrals done at the Cedar Rapids location.
OWI Services
There are outpatient therapy options for children, youth and adults. OWI classes are also available through this location to provide driver education and evaluations that meet the requirements of the courts for OWI cases. The 12 hour class is not covered by insurance, and the $180.00 cost must be paid in advance.
Affordable Treatment
They accept many major health insurance plans including Title 19 Medicaid for most services related to substance abuse or addiction treatment. They have a sliding fee scale for any expenses above what is covered.
