About Alliance Recovery Center Decatur
There’s so much going on in Decatur, Georgia you almost don’t know where to turn! You can go to the Arts Festival in early summer, catch a live music show at Eddie’s Attic, or indulge your love for memorabilia at the Waffle House Museum. These great activities fit nicely around treatment sessions at the Alliance Recovery Center (ARC), which provides outpatient medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid misuse.
ARC charges a per day rate for treatment services, which may be covered by insurance. The clinic works with Medicaid, Medicare and several private plans.
MAT With a Difference in Decatur
What impressed me about ARC is that they don’t focus on the medication part of MAT and leave the therapy as an afterthought. Instead, they see methadone or buprenorphine as a tool to help you focus on what’s truly effective: building genuine connections through individual and group therapy while the medications simply help you stay on track.
Every client has a primary counselor when they start treatment, and initially, you’ll have clinical care at the center six days a week. As you progress, you’ll get take home medication and be able to visit less frequently.
Support from Peer Specialists and Fellow Participants
Core to the idea of forming new connections within the program is the access you have to peer support specialists and group therapy. Groups connect you to others interested in similar topics, such as veteran specific issues, grief or stress management.
Peers are trained support team members who have been through addiction and recovery. They can cheer you on and supply essential encouragement and information about community resources as you move through the program.
By engaging authentically with individual and group therapy, you’ll establish deep roots in recovery that will help you maintain sobriety long term.
